About Petroleum Engineering

In this modern age, industrialisation stands at the epicentre of every form of development in numerous countries across the world. With the growing scope of technology, there has been a growing demand for training experts who have the ability to engage with the industry and prescribe effective solutions which ensure the continuous growth of the industry as well as the sustainability of the environment. Petroleum Engineering deals with the design and development methods for extracting oil and gas deposits. The Faculty of Engineering offers this B.Tech in Petroleum Engineering which is a four year bachelor's program designed to introduce students to petroleum geology, reservoir engineering, economics and artificial lift systems. As a way providing students with the much needed practical hands on training, the Faculty has been equipped with state of the art facilties for research and experimentation. Various laboratories and workshops have been set up and these have been serving the purpose of ensuring the constant and regular engagement of the petroleum students under the guidance of expert faculties. The program has been strategically developed in line with the contemporary trends in the industry, therefore students get to acquire the most effective training in the scope of this field. All this promotes in sudents an ability to design and develop methods for extracting oil and gas deposits.
